Pure Plus

Imagine swimming in a pool to which you never have to add chemicals because, hidden from sight, the water was being cleansed by a scientific process so effective and easy to control that you can see the difference in a fortnight... and it actually tells you how clean your water is!

In a process called Hydrolysis Pure:SV uses charged titanium plates to break the water apart into its constituent Hydrogen and Oxygen molecules which then reform quickly and briefly into chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide and ozone.

In this reaction and specific to Pure:SV it is important to know that water (H2O) is composed of molecules of hydrogen and oxygen, Hydrolysis occurs when the stable chemical bonds that keep the water molecules together are exposed to an electrical current passing through the water between the coated titanium electrodes and broken apart.

As detailed in the table below the chemicals produced by this reaction (Shown in green) are far better at cleansing your pool water than the traditionally used Chlorine or Bromine (shown in red) and, by the time they reach the pool, have mixed back into H²O leaving no harmful traces in the pool water. The table is arranged in order of effectiveness.

Copper Ionisation – Pure:SV

As mentioned above the hydrolysis action is a powerful but short lived one so to provide full long term sanitisation of the pool water Pure:SV has a second, equally important system.

Contained within a secondary chamber are charged copper/silver rods which by the production of copper and silver ions are used to act as both an algaecide, a long lasting bactericide and, importantly for long lasting water clarity, a replacement for the flocculating chemicals commonly added to pool water.

For centuries is has been known that copper and silver are highly effective against bacteria with alloys of the metal in such applications as brass door knobs being proved to have an antibacterial effect over a period of 8 hours. Copper also has a long history of use in the garden and agriculture as an effective method of weed control.

Finally not only does the addition of a small amount of silver in each copper rod boost the disinfectant qualities of the system but, by installing the separate copper/silver chamber before the filter, the positively charged ions generated act as a flocculent, trapping the negatively charged algae, bacteria and other organic waste in the filter to be flushed away by backwashing.

Therefore the production of copper and silver ions by Pure:SV can be seen to have a 3-fold positive effect on the water of a swimming pool.
